Fungi

More surprises growing on the wood in the backyard. I don't think I've ever seen one as green as this before!
I'm going to call your yard "mushroom hill!" These photos have been amazing from the beginning. Great clarity and color here, Ann!

I love the contrast of textures. It looks like both cotton batting and sea coral!

@allie912 I thought of coral too Allison. If I'd gone in a little tighter, I could have done a "What do you think this is" game. Thanks!

@sarasdadandmom Thanks Terry- definitely a good find in the back yard yesterday!
@alia_801 Thanks Alia! My thoughts exactly!
@harvey Thanks Steve- it's very spongy to the touch- even though it looks like coral.
@steeler Thanks Howard- I thought it looked like coral too. That was one of the reasons it caught my eye- that and the color.
@bruni Thanks Bruni- I'm seeing a lot of strange mushrooms and fungus this year!
@prttblues Thanks Bev. I found a purple one yesterday too, But it isn't tall enough yet. It's still buried in the leaves. I'm going to keep my eyes on it though. Who knew so many strange things could grow in my own backyard!?

@tanyasamol @jmj Thanks Tanya and Jennifer- yes it looks like coral and yes the green is very unusual. I hadn't seen a green one before either. The only thing I can attribute it to is the extraordinary amount of rain we've had.
