I am sooo tired I cannot think straight! I'm going to bed early! I will add a wittier comment tomorrow and finish looking at your then as well!
Good Night!
Addendum: Here's the belated commentary- based on all the favorable nods to the processing. Here's how it was done: This shot is a close-up of the 6 on my wall calendar. I had taken two other shots but was not pleased with they way they would look next to the other numbers, so I took this one as a last minute substitute. The black line on the top left actually went all the way across, but I didn't like the way it curved on the right side so I erased it! In the sooc black and white version, the shot was truly lack-luster and it wasn't different enough from my beautifully bold 5, so I applied a texture from iPiccy to it, and voila! It was good to go!
Beautiful lighting and processing, Ann. Artistic ...has an abstract floral look to it. Just noticed that you've been doing these in b&w. You rock, girl!
Thanks to: Maggie, Kerri, Karenann, Rick, Marie, Kimmi, Colleen, Michael, Nicole, Henri, Allison, Julie, Phil, Alia and Sally!!!!!!!!
After almost 9 hours of sleep, I am definitely feeling refreshed! Thank you all for such kind comments and well wishes! And thanks!!!!!! to those who fav'd this 6!
Well, here's the commentary on how it was done- It's a close-up of the 6 on my wall calendar because the two other 6's I took and processed did not promise to line up well with 1 through 5. The black line on top actually went all the way across, but I didn't like the way it curved on the right, so I erased it! In straight-up b/w this shot looked rather lack-luster and it wasn't different enough from good ol' #5, so I applied a texture to it, and voila! It was good to go.
@summerfield Thanks Vikki! Just about to run out the door- will be coming back to put up 7 later! @peterdegraaff Thanks Peter! Ditto what I said to Vikki and will stop in to be wowed by some of your awesome work later today! I always love starring at your landscapes and pretending I'm there!
@prttblues thanks Bev! It's a 6 on my wall calendar. @mrssmith thanks Carla! I'm still recoperating from 4 days of heat and humidity! @cimes1 thanks Carole! @lyoungs1023 thanks Elizabeth! @ruthmouch thanks Ruth! I think the texture that I applied to it made all the difference. @automaticslim thanks Andy! @groovygirlrn thanks Sheri! @bruni thanks Bruni! The only thing that I see is that the upper left corner sort of looks like ivy leaves. Sort of! @vposey thanks Vikki! This one was designed by @alia_801 and you can find it at- http:/365project.org/discuss/themes-competitions/13208/july-thumbnail-challenge. The month is divided into weeks and each week has a theme. The object is to make each week a unit so that when you look at the calendar view at the end of the month you'll see "stripes" running across your project. The first week was the colors of the rainbow, this week it's numbers and next week we'll be photographing lines. It's not too late to join. Since it's weekly it will still work for the weeks that are left. The new week starts on Monday. @netkonnexion thanks Netkonnexion! @lesphoto thanks Leslie! @woot thanks Davide!
I Love what you have done with the Numbers Challenge! All of your numbers this week are so creative and the thumbnail view of your calender is Awesome ! Next Week Lines!! This ought to be interesting! :)
@ellimae Thanks Ellen! I appreciate that so much! I'm behind in all my viewing and commenting- hubby monopolized the computer this weekend and I was going crazy!! Hopefully I'll catch up again this week. @smithak Thanks Smitha! That's an interesting take on this shot- I can see what you mean though!
@lyno Oh these are really fun. Alia has done a great job in designing this challenge! And I am a stickler once I get started on these. If I start it I have to finish it! I'm glad you're enjoying them! I behind on posting though- I had the shot yesterday, but wasn't able to put it up as my husband was working on a report and monopolized the computer all weekend!!
@la_photographic Thanks Laura! It worked well at the last minute as the 6 I originally intended to post had too much glare and the second one I'd taken I'd forgotten to take horizontally and it was too late to go out and retake it. My friend's yard sale really threw off my rhythm!
