As summer draws to a close, I think I will most miss the flowers this year. Although they struggled, first with too much rain, and then with not enough, watching my Coneflowers sprout, bloom, and return to the earth they emerged from was a photographic pleasure this year. I'll miss these Fibonaci show stopping colors when the dreary days of winter settle in, but they'll be here through Autumn, so I still have some time to enjoy their beauty.
(Posting early as I will not be able to do so in Michigan. I confess this shot was taken in July. But the ones I took the other day didn't please me, so I went back to this one.)
Gorgeous pov and color! Our summer flowers are leaving us here and the Fall ones are coming in. No butterflies around lately either ... so that means the end of summer. I love the change of seasons tho!!
Thank you Allison- we had a wonderful time~!
Thank you Tara- it's a Cone Flower- also known as ecchinacea.
Thanks Karenann! Spring and Fall are my favorites, but I've come to love the coneflowers as they are so photogenic!
Thanks Pam!
@olivetreeann Duh! I see you wrote that in the description. I think I commented without a thorough read. Thanks for responding :). And I just noticed that I commented twice . . . deep breath, slow down :)
@tara11 (o: Not to worry- had you not said anything about the first comment, I would never have noticed! But now I can say, you are my most dedicated commentator having left not one, but two very nice comments on this shot!
@pandorasecho Thanks Dixie- I love sunflowers too and attempted some this year, but I'm finding that my soil is not great for growing new things from seed. Transplanting works better. These flowers were first started by a transplanted clump but now they are reseeding themselves and doing just fine. @nicolecampbell Thanks Nicole!
Thank you Sally!
Thank you Kerri!
Thank you Livia, Phil, Nada, Alia and Mark! Off to Michigan- have a great weekend!
Thanks to all! I have a small window of time while visiting the family to read and comment, hence the blanket thank you!
@wenbow Thanks Wendy!
