I'm experimenting with different components to see how close I can get to this style of Japanese art. I don't know if I'll be able to put them all together in one shot, but it's good for the imagination! I was trying to mimic the linen canvas with this effect.
I appreciate the feedback. I may end up merging several layers together to get all the colors and textures. At least I know I'm on the right track here.
@daisy Thank you Kathryn! This shot is going to pose some challenges with that window in there. I wish I'd posted one of the ones that just had the shadow, but maybe then it wouldn't be as much of a challenge!
This is so pretty, love all the yellow and the softness of it. You gave it a washed look, you are so talented. I would love to live by you and learn how to do some of these things. A Fav.
I thought of that Japanese style when I saw it - just couldn't think what it was reminding me of until I read your caption :) I guess that means you succeeded!

Thank you Linda! I am really not an expert at this- but I am an expert at experimenting! And what's nice about digital is that you never ruin the original shot. If something doesn't look right, you just press "undo" and it's back to the way it was! So, I would just encourage to go out to one of these processing sites, upload a photo and play around with it. Ribbet, iPiccy and BeFunky are all free and have some great features that you can use without having to pay for it.
Thank you Liane, Brian, Patty, Alia, Dione, Rachel, Howard and Sally! I thank you all for the enthusiasm- it's on it's way there for me, but needs just a little tweaking.
I do a lot of fiddling with these things. In my mind I know the result I want but sometimes I can't seem to find the right effect on getting it. Maybe on Day 3 it will all come together.
Thank you Dixie!
Thank you Maggie!

@pflaume Thank you Lisa! I just experiment with different things until I get what I'm looking for or close to it.
