@kerristephens Thank you Kerri! @worthitall Thank you Rashella! lol gotta love stainless steel! @dakotaburns Thank you Donald! @joreasonable Thanks Jo! @digitalrn Thank you Rick! Was looking for a "practical" thing to close out the week- the sponge seemed to fit the bill! @bkbinthecity Thank you Brian! lol had a few other shots that were even more textured but there were also a few things stuck in it when I took them- oops! @alia_801 Thanks Alia! @prttblues Thanks Bev! @filsie65 Thanks Phil! It's over or under expossed this week- and I'm looking forward to overexposing shots on purpose! @paulavdmerwe Thank you Paula! @nicolecampbell Thank you Nicole! I'd taken some of just the sponge alone, and actually had one that had some really nice lines. But I kept going back to this one because I liked the measuring spoons in the background. As you say, it tells a story in a way. @steeler Thank you Howard!
@cimes1 Thanks Carole! Yes, I was making some salad dressing- family recipe- and hadn't quite washed everything up when I thought of taking a picture of the sponge. At first I was going to post a different shot of it, but kept coming back to this because I liked the way they looked in the sink! It added a little interest to the shot- or tells a story as Nicole pointed out.
I am sorry i have missed so many of your photos! Your Calender View looks Marvelous!! I love how you set it up , and i remember you commenting on how it was going to look when you first started, and you were right! it looks cool! The Black and White with the little touch of red is just fabulouse Ann! Great Sponge too! :)
@henrir Thank you Henri! @ellimae Thank you Ellen! It happens every now and then when you get out of sync with someone's shots. I'm just glad you caught up with this one! @sangwann Thank you Dione! @mrssmith Thank you Carla! Oh, I really don't think of myself as being that brilliant but sure do appreciate the compliment. When I'm shooting something like this, I always start with the question, "What if I...?" and "How can I make this look different?". That usually gets me started. @pandorasecho Thank you Dixie! I'm glad you are enjoying the challenge. I'm not sure I know what you mean by pineapple house though? Is that one of those little doo-dads you put the sponge in? @bruni Thank you Bruni! I always start the processing by asking the question "What if I...?" and "How can I make this look different?". They usually get me thinking outside the box. I don't see it as genius just a natural way to get the creative juices flowing. @pflaume Thank you Lisa! It's fun to try to make something so common look so different. @daisy Thank you Kathryn! I enjoy challenging myself to make it look different and to not take the same kind of shot everyone else does.
@summerfield lol Vikki- so sorry but shouldn't the title have clued you in? If it'd been cake that would have been included in the title! hehe @sandier Thanks Sandie! Nice to see you again! Yes, we are doing a month long theme called Flash of Red February ( http://365project.org/discuss/themes-competitions/16115/flash-of-red-february ). The idea is to shoot the entire month in black and white (each week has its own theme/subject matter) with the exception of February 14th which was a b/w shot with selective coloring featuring red. At the end of the month it should look pretty cool with all the pictures in b/w and that one spot of red somewhat in the middle.
Thank you Maggie (you most definitely do not want to eat this!), Colleen, and AnaZad!
