Met with some wonderful ladies from church tonight and spent time in prayer. Soft light, music in the background, the soft sounds of a small water fountain and my little angel made a lovely vignette for us. Time that I can spend talking with and listening to God brings me much joy. Life has been a little turbulent for me lately with the floor project and other things. It's also been a bit frustrating as I'm trying to work with technology that I don't often understand! So it was really good to quiet my heart and soul before the Lord and let His words restore and smooth out my rough edges. Ahhhhh- sweet hour of prayer indeed!
I really appreciate those "pray" times, I use quote because that I am not religious but that does not stop me having time mediate. I found that clears up a lot of space within me so I can regain the energy to deal with daily problems in a productive and positive way. Wish your problems become less pressure on you.
Your photo nicely captures the quiet feeling of prayer. I think we're from different traditions, but the feeling and experience are the same--I spend at least an hour a week in the adoration chapel at my church.
@henrir Thank you Henri! @yaorenliu Thank you Yao! Yes, I often meditate on Scripture. I believe there is a part of us that needs to be connected that way. Thank you for your warm wishes- I am more frustrated in not understanding how computers and modems and such work than pressured- but this too shall pass. You are very kind! @eudora Thank you Diane! An "Adoration Chapel" sounds lovely! We probably do come from different backgrounds, but I've been in a variety of churches through the years and find the essentials are always agreed upon and there is freedom in expressing our worship in a variety of ways. After all we are created in the image of a very creative God- so there is room for creativity and variety in worship. And actually I enjoy that about the body of Christ- that there is such a diverse expression among us but that we all love the same Lord. @mrssmith203 Thank you Carla! @kerristephens Thank you Kerri! @daisy Thank you Kathryn!
very sweet narrative. And I collect these willow figurines too. i did worship for our ladies bs retreat a few months ago with a friend and we sang and harmonized Sweet Hour of Prayer with our guitars. this is a lovely reminder to stay connected moment by moment with the Lord and in all things give thanks. this also reminds me of "One Thousand Gifts" by Ann Voskamp.
@moreyoulessme Thank you Jerri! Your rendition of this classic hymn sounds so nice. I'm not familiar with Ann Voskamp. I will have to look her up on YouTube.
@httpgeffed Thank you Colleen!
