Photography Book Club 18

I wasn't happy with anything I took today but I one of my failed shots was an attempt to redo this shot completely in focus. When it didn't work, and didn't look as nice as this one, I decided to give this shot a second chance. I processed it with the "Orton-effect" on Ribbet and I think it salvaged the shot nicely. Patterson considered the camera an "in the present" medium. It works with what is before the photographer, rather than what he/she can dream up or fabricate as in the manner of an artist. The colorful sunflowers took center stage today, and the center of the sunflower was the star of the show- just a little sunshine in the here and now to brighten your day.
Great Photo!!!

I like the photo and your commentary as well. Always interesting to see into the minds of a fellow 365er. I need to look into Ribbet as I've always liked what you do with it when you use it.

I like how it looks like there are a whole lot of little flowers in the middle. The little things in life are really quite eye catching.

@quickshots Thank you Quentin!
@kerristephens Thank you Kerri!
@sgiesman Thank you Sarah!
@twr Thank you Timothy!
@taffy Thank you Taffy! I'm a little behind in my reading and sort of scrambling for things to shoot! But the "here and now" stuck in my mind and it seems to have carried through to today's shots as well. I know there are probably several photo processing programs I should look into, but so far the free on-line ones seem to be adequate for me and we really don't have the extra money at this point. Ribbet has a lot of nice options. So why fix something that isn't broken? (o:
