Another shot to put Patterson to the test. According to him, "primary colors are considered more stable; secondary colors less stable". Therefore when your eyes have a choice as to what color to land on, you will at first be drawn to the primary colors within the picture, and then to the secondary colors. The "instability" between the two color groups make the picture more dynamic. I purposely put the secondary colors in the foreground here. But I do keep looking at the red beads, just as Patterson said I would. And then my eyes go to the blue and yellow. So I guess it's true: Primary colors rule.
Three in a row for orange first. In fact I saw orange and green then read what you wrote and thought, there were only secondary here, so I had to go back to see the three primary colors.
Nice capture! I'm with @maggiemae@salza@pandorasecho and @mzzhope. I was drawn to the orange one. I kept glancing at the other colours, but the orange has my attention.
A mass thank you to you all! We are in Michigan!! A last minute change of plans and a rental car and we arrived just a while ago, so I'll be keeping tabs on you but might not be posting for a bit. It looks like Patterson's theory is holding on to being true with a 6 to 5 vote but not everybody "voted". Thanks for the feed back- and for those of you who voted for orange-keep this in mind- it takes red to make orange! haha
Really cool way to illustrate this idea! Very cool colors here.
Was talking to Taffy about a follow-up book club, and she actually had just ordered a black and white photography book to think about for one. Here's the link she gave me today if you're interested in checking it out too: http://www.wiley.com/WileyCDA/WileyTitle/productCd-0470597755.html
like alia @alia_801 the orange kept calling me and that is because i am in my very sunny living room so orange being a mix of two warm colours stands out more. for me at least. have a good time in michigan.
Nice shot, Ann... I dunno... As an artist my eyes go to all colors... The green and orange shine. Nicely done. Love how the foreground is in focus and the background is slightly blurred but not too badly. Well done :)
Thank you Carole, Laraine, Nicole, Katie, Vikki, Cindy, Gerry, Bev, and Jennifer! Just sending thanks today- will be catching up with all your shots by the end of the week.
@bkbinthecity Thanks Brian!
