Black and White Book Club 2

It was dreary and gray again this morning. There had been some precipitation over night and while the car was warming up, droplets of water were carving paths down the windshield as I waited for Jeff to come to the car. It struck me that in the somewhat abstract view looking through the windshield, there was a nice contrast between the sharp and distinctly black tree trunks and the gray sky. The view was the perfect monochromatic subject of the day, so out came the camera! Although this will never win a prize as Fine Art, I do like the range and subtlety of the different gray tones in it.
Great capture and idea for a shot

@sarasdadandmom It's amazing what you see that ends up turning into a picture!

I do like the sharpness and blur combines with the b and white! Nice shot!

@megmills Thank you Meg!

I really like this one. Something about the clarity in the droplet trails makes me think about lightning!
February 2nd, 2014
@archaeofrog Thanks Katie! I did think that the water streaks somewhat looked like lightning streaks.

The detail of the moisture across the whole frame makes for a very effective backdrop.

Clever idea. It has an eerie look! Is that a person through the window!?

Beautiful

Nice shot, Ann! And yes - very creative and very abstract. Well done :)

@frankhymus @windridge @kerristephens @mzzhope @nancih @prttblues

Thank you Frank, Susan, Kerri, Hope, Nanci, and Bev!

@windridge It's not a person Susan, but I'm not sure what it is! I think it might be the window of another vehicle parked in our driveway. The camera is being held on a tilt so it's kind of throwing me off in figuring it out.

Nice BW abstract shot
February 3rd, 2014
Very nice abstract capture. When I first saw the thumbnail I thought it you had captured some large spider legs!
February 3rd, 2014
very nice.

@bill_fe @taffy @vesna0210 @alia_801 @kporte @sangwann @kali66 @daisymiller @salza @mhatch @digitalrn

Thank you to all! I do appreciate the way photography has sharpened my ability to pay attention to my surroundings. Normally I would have swiped the windshield wipers without a second thought!

@kporte You are too kind Keith! I truly believe it's just a matter of paying attention to what's in front of you. Thank you for the compliment!

@taffy Thank you Taffy- I do think it's that my sense of "seeing" has really grown since joining 365.

@salza Noooooo way! Spiders and snakes are NOT my thing! Although I have taken some spider shots since being on here- from a safe distance of course!

Very cool abstract.

So what are you doing home when you're suppose to be in the Ukraine?????? pls see my e-mail.
February 4th, 2014
This is the message. it was sent in Bulk. I'm not repeating your e-mail address for obvious reasons. "I really hope you get this fast. I could not inform anyone about my trip, because it was impromptu. I had to be in donetsk, Ukraine for a program. The program was successful, but my journey has turned sour. I misplaced my wallet and cell phone on my way back to the hotel i lodge in after i went for sight seeing. The wallet contained all the valuables things i have. Now, my passport is in custody of the hotel management pending when i make payment.

I am sorry if i am inconveniencing you, but i have only very few people to run to now. i will be indeed very grateful if i can get a loan of $2,000 from you. this will enable me sort our hotel bills and get my sorry self back home. I will really appreciate whatever you can afford in assisting me with. I promise to refund it in full as soon as I return. let me know if you can be of any assistance. Please, let me know soonest. Thanks so much.." please let me know what you think.. Bruni

@homeschoolmom @cimes1
Thank you Lisa!
Thank you Carole!

@bruni Thank you Bruni! No, I'm not in the Ukraine and thanks for letting me know. I don't know how this malware got into my computer, but unfortunately it did. I would never bring my cell phone traveling overseas and I am definitely NOT the type to lose my wallet. I am disgusted with Yahoo. This is the second time this has happened and I think I am going to get a new email. I will let you know when I do. Thanks for letting me know! And so sorry about the bad email you received.
