The juxtaposition of the Statue of Liberty with this sculpture entitled "Liberation" depicting the rescue of a Holocaust victim by an American soldier struck me to the core when I was at Liberty State Park recently. I thought it would be fitting to post this today while we remember the ultimate sacrifice that men and women who served in the military and gave their all for their country and our freedom.
Sorry Ann, but I don't like the context. It's the creators' fault. The Statue of Liberty is backwards and looks like it's gone and those poor people are left alone. How timely! And this lump in my throat is growing and getting worse.
Your image is wonderful Ann, but after reading Haskar's comment I do feel that he has highlighted a very significant error. The siting of this powerful image, wrt the statue of liberty, is very unfortunate.
