Some dreams are wonderful and reassuring. Some are confusing and troublesome. And most dreams fall somewhere in between. The first thing that popped into my head when I read today's word was a song by Heart back in the 80's. I was not a huge Heart fan, but I did like the uneasy-ness of this song and how it reflected the strange world of dreams.
Spare a little candle, save some light for me
Figures up ahead moving in the trees
White skin in linen, perfume on my wrist
And the full moon that hangs over these dreams in the mist
Darkness on the edge, shadows where I stand
I search for the time on a watch with no hands
I want to see you clearly, come closer than this
But all I remember are the dreams in the mist
These dreams go on when I close my eyes
Every second of the night I live another life
These dreams that sleep when it's cold outside
Every moment I'm awake the further I'm away
Is it cloak and dagger? Could it be spring or fall?
I walk without a cut through a stained glass wall
Weaker in my eyesight, the candle in my grip
And words that have no form are falling from my lips
These dreams go on when I close my eyes
Every second of the night I live another life
These dreams that sleep when it's cold outside
Every moment I'm awake the further I'm away
There's something out there I can't resist
I need to hide away from the pain
There's something out there I can't resist
The sweetest song is silence that I've ever heard
Funny how your feet in dreams never touch the earth
In a wood full of princes freedom is a kiss
But the prince hides his face from dreams in the mist
These dreams go on when I close my eyes
Every second of the night I live another life
These dreams that sleep when it's cold outside
Every moment I'm awake the further I'm away
@changingtides Thank you Allie. I didn't know what I was going to shoot for this word, but I had to run an errand this afternoon and when I got out of the car I just happened to look up. Talk about an A-HA! moment. (o: @annaruth Thanks Anna- it's the good old "hypnotic" effect in Picnik again. This time I used the "multiply" application as opposed to the default "normal" application. And of course- the ever popular mirror frame with a blue tint to compliment the sky.
@kerristephens Thanks Kerri! @michaelelliott Thanks Michael- sorry I've been so behind on your photos! @digitalrn Thank you Rick- it's a very pretty song- you can find it on YouTube if you want to hear it as well. @sarasdadandmom Thanks Terry!
@summerfield Thanks Summerfield- sweet dreams! @alia_801 Thanks Alia- I wasn't planning on it, but I always mess around with the effects before i post and it just added the perfect touch, so it stayed on.
@prttblues Thanks Bev! I love this effect- I don't know why, I just do. Every time I apply it to something, I laugh about it forever. So I really try to use it sparingly! It went well with the theme.
