This may seem like an odd symbol of hope to you, but it's a special one to me because it represents a trip that Jeff and I are planning to take in the summer. This is one of Jeff's beautiful instruments. It was made by James Olson, a luthier who is located in St. Paul, MN. Jeff has wanted to visit his shop for years now so that he can give the guitar a "tune-up"- sort of like a car gets one. We've begun saving and I HOPE that we will be able to make it a memorable trip that includes not only a visit to Olson Guitars but some other US landmarks as well. That's one of my hopes for 2012. What's one of yours?

Wow! We are thinking the same thing tonight!!! I can't believe this!!! haha! I hope that you get to take your trip this summer. That sounds like a wonderful adventure for you. I am hoping for good health and happiness....for me and everyone that I know.
That is great. My wife and I hope to make two trips this year. One when Her brother and sister-in-law get there Masters Degrees and then one for ourselves for a very special Christmas that we have planned for awhile now

@digitalrn This is actually the first time Jeff has said he'd like to take a trip. He's the homebody and I'm the wandering spirit. But I'll have fun putting it all together. We'll probably go in June sometime around our anniversary. The biggest hurdle will be getting him to set aside days for a "vacation"- something self-employed people in construction don't always do easily!
that is a beautiful wish for the new year and i hope that this will come into fruition. it is a doable wish and hope. that guitar looks lovely. i have not played guitar in 25 or so years and my guitar when brought here, crumbled after a few weeks. i do not hope to have a guitar again, although i've been looking around since two years ago. my hope for this new year and years to come is to stay healthy and that is my hope, too, for everyone. happy new year, ann.
