All the Diamonds by olivetreeann

All the Diamonds

All the diamonds in this world
That mean anything to me
Are conjured up by wind and sunlight
Sparkling on the sea

I ran aground in a harbor town
Lost the taste for being free
Thank God He sent some gull-chased ship to carry me to sea

Two thousand years and half a world away
Dying tree still grows greener when you pray

Silver scales flash bright and fade
In reeds along the shore
Like a pearl in a sea of liquid jade
His ship comes shining
Like a crystal swan in a sky of suns
His ship comes shining

Thanks to all. It was a beautiful afternoon to explore this little creek which shoot off of the Bushkill. And the sunlight danced on the water at every turn. Jeff hopes to put this song up on his YouTube site at some point, so I'm storing up "diamond" shots for him.

Love the words - and the picture is just beautiful. Sometimes the loveliest shots are the simple ones we might just pass by un-noticing.

I love gull chased ships... =).. I love the sea.. the sails.. the voyage feeling..and pretty sunlight over the small waves.. when I was a kid I fancied these were gold ..I must not be so small cause Ithought someone attaching gols coins over wine corks.. so they stayed on the surface.. =).. must have known some archimede laws.. such a complicated fancy.. and also my mum's eyes were just like this when she was happy.. little gold glimpses over a deep greyish blue....
