Shadows on the Wall

These shadows are not being cast by the sun. Any ideas as to what might be making them?
Cool

How about a fire in the fireplace?

Thank you Kerri, Laraine, and Allison. Good try Allison, but not this time.

Is it you by chance

@digitalrn thank you Rick! Although I do have a sparkling personality that brightens any room, unfortunately I did not produce enough wattage to produce this shadow. (o:

Haha love your above reply. I'm stuck for an option on what's making those shadows.

I don't know, but I think it may be something brighter than you'd have us believe ... like an oil lamp perhaps?

@sangwann Thanks Dione!
@automaticslim Thanks Andy! You are on the right track as to "it may be something brighter than you'd have us believe". But it's not an oil lamp.

Well, I was somewhat surprised at this- if I'd seen the post I'd have thought along this line, "Well, if it's not the sun, it must be the moon." Because in my whacky head it would have to be the opposite. How surprised I was to see such logical and good guesses! But, that's what it is- moon shadows. The full moon was so bright this week it made shadows on the wall in the middle of the night. I'm not sure why the info is reading 3:45 pm.

Hah! - I was going by your exif. I even checked the moon rise times!

@automaticslim I did use the Nikon for this shot- I'll have to check and see if the time is correct on it. Although my new camera card is here and I'm back to using my Canon again. Sorry for the misleading exif info!
December 7th, 2012
I expect you'll be happy to get back to the Canon.
December 7th, 2012
@automaticslim Yes, I'm happily (hard to believe) using my p & s Canon! One thing I learned through this is that if and when I'm able to bump up my camera, I'll be sticking with Canon. I do not like that feature on the Nikon.

Bev
Very cool shot, Ann! Clever too! Well done!

My wife had a 35mm Canon compact for a long time, and it was very good indeed, but that's my only experience of the "big two" makers. Funny how you become loyal to brands. Up until a couple of years ago I was a dyed in the wool Olympus user (and still think the OM series was the zenith of 35mm SLR technology), but now I'm completely won over by Panasonic / Leica for good quality digital compacts.

@prttblues Thanks Bev! It was just a matter of noticing it- quite an amazing moon shadow.
@automaticslim I will have to check them out as well, but until I have cash in hand to go shopping with, I know I'll forget the details! I will definitely be going to stores to try them before I buy one.

Bars?? :-) Neat :-)
December 11th, 2012
Oh, I read that wrong. I thought you were asking what the shadows were. lol I see how that you have posted the moon lol Oh well, I'm probably to tired to even have guessed that, seeming I can't read a simple guess what LOL :-)

@vposey Thank you Vickie! Oh, don't feel bad about that- I've misread things too. Actually you weren't too far off with bars- it's the slats on my window shades.
