An Acorn Among the Leaves by olivetreeann

An Acorn Among the Leaves

I saw this little acorn among the brown leaves while stacking fire wood. And although I could have left it "au natural" for the 30 Days of Selective Coloring challenge, I decided to throw it into sepia first, just to make it an official use of the effect!
Cool shot

@secondlook Thank you for the fav Renee!

@kerristephens Thank you Kerri!
@summerfield Thanks Vikki! Yes, it was. I will try to find it and save it for our next meet-up.
@mzzhope Thank you Hope!
@altadc Thank you Alta!
@kt8ird Thank you Kate! I usually use Ribbet, a free, on-line photo processing site. You could also use Picmonkey (as an ace member you can use it for free by uploading your picture on 365 and then selecting the "edit photo with Picmonkey" in the right hand column of the photo page under "Photo Details".

Ann just read some of answers and in the one to Kate you mentioned ace member Picmonkey. I know you have to upload the picture first before you can make changes in Picmonkey, but in the meantime you already get comments on the original picture and when your editing takes a while those followers will not see the picture again when you replace it with the new edited version. Or is there something I missing?
I love the outcome of your picture. looks almost like a fall shot with the leaves in sepia..this acorn must've fallen off before it's time - don't they usually look brown in the fall?

@bruni Thanks Bruni! No, you're correct. People will see the unedited version while you are processing it in Picmonkey. Most of the time I don't really mind that. But you do have the option when you upload the shot to 365 to put underneath the picture that you're going to process it in Picmonkey and ask folks to hold their comments until you're done. Sometimes I put a little disclaimer like "This shot is not done yet!" or "processing in Picmonkey- be right back!" I usually process my shots completely before I upload here. But every now and then I use a Picmonkey frame or one of their vintage treatments. And when I'm away and have to upload directly to 365, it really comes in handy to be able to go there. Now that I have my laptop I don't have to worry about that so much but every now and then it's a great back-up.
