National Camera Day is observed each year on June 29th. This day celebrates photographs, the camera and its invention. The camera is an irreplaceable tool used to record and replicate memories, events and people/places. Before the invention of the camera, the only resource to document a vision was a painting. As there are not many people who can perfectly replicate something into a painting, the power of a camera provided many people with a simple, inexpensive and fast solution.
The camera was made popular by a man named George Eastman, also called “The Father of Photography”. While he did not invent the camera, he did invent many additions that improved the use, ease and production of a camera, making it widely available to homes around the world.
Although this is technically a national day, we here on 365 are far more global so we've made it an international day. And of course the Toy Group was quite eager to participate in celebrating it! If you're wondering who might be behind this camera and what or who they might be photographing, check out this link: http://365project.org/365toygroup/365/2015-07-01
And feel free to grab your toy friends and join us!
@allie912 Thanks Allison! The link is there now. I have to log out of my project, log into the 365 Toy Group, post the shot, then log out of that and come back to my project and go through the editing process to add it in. When I first started linking these two albums, it was fun. But it has gotten pretty old now! Haha- but I'll finish the year out with the links and then see what I feel like doing. So, it's in there now and it should work.
Thank you Lisa, Phoebe, Mz, Kerri, Bev, Amy, Joan, Graham, Leigh Anne and Pyrrhula!
