Following the warning about the horrible disease chaffinches and green finches are getting I decided to have a close look at my chaffinch to check him out. Early this morning I put out fresh mealworms and sunflower seeds and went inside to have a coffee and watch. Within 5 minutes the first visitor to the garden was the chaffinch and my set of 3 tryptics show his activity during the next 15 minutes. I did notice he had a slight limp when he was on the ground - I think his left leg - but I can't see any damage. I will continue to monitor the chaffinch but I am hoping he is ok. He is certainly very active and eating well. Fingers crossed he is ok.

I have been checking out the chaffinch following Lisa's warning yesterday. Three tryptics taken this morning showing his activity. I will be interested to see what you think.
Assuming it is the same chaffinch, he looks smaller, but today was warmer so he hadn't fluffed up against the cold. I guess a call to the RSPB to put your mind at rest wont harm. Have fun with your parcel tomorrow :)
