It has been amazing watching the Royal Marines at work these last three days. I spoke to one of the Marines today and asked how many tons of sand they have moved. He didn't know but he told me each digger was lifting 4 tons of sand every time. They have been going back and forth to the other end of the beach and built a 3 feet high wall of sand in front of the sand dunes. I have never seen workmen working at such a fast rate as these Marines - I hope they are getting well paid for this job and not just on their normal daily rate!! It just shows how powerful the sea is that it could have moved all this sand. I wonder how often they have to do a clean up like this?
Many thanks for your great comments on yesterday's pics - very much appreciated!!
