A level results out today and my great niece Sophie got a B for her Art and has been accepted into Leeds which was her first choice of Uni. We are all so proud of her and she is absolutely thrilled that she has actually done it!! The course she is doing is Art and Architectural design. Gosh I wish it was me!!
I am so pleased that I was able to give her some guidance on the photography part of her project.
She will be off to Leeds in 4 weeks and her mum says she now needs to have an intensive course in cooking, washing, ironing etc - all the things she should already know how to do!! The youngsters these days are completely spoilt!! LOL!!
Congratulations Sophie! Oh my this looks like an A+ presentation to me. I know you are proud of her! Just terrific. She will learn all those household chores when she needs to, not a day before. 😊
Wow Pam, this looks fabulous!!!! So will she be boarding in a dorm at Leeds, and doing a full course of study there? I know you'll tell me all about it and these are such exciting times for that young lady! All that I see in that photo looks just wonderful! Congratulations, Sophie!
@Weezilou thanks Louise! Yes she is boarding. It’s an apartment with 5 or6 separate bedrooms all with their own bathrooms. It’s very expensive but it looks lovely. Sophie’s mum Louise said the cheaper rooms were really grotty with shared bathrooms. The block is right on campus which is great. I just hope and pray she gets to make some good friends and doesn’t get too homesick! She loves to party so I think she will settle in quickly.
How exciting for your family, Pam! I remember when looking at colleges with my son, I was hoping he would pick Pepperdine University. That's because I would have picked that place with the gorgeous view of the ocean and equestrian program. But, alas, it was his choice and he went to UC Davis. It all worked out for the best because that is where he met Erin, whom he dated for 4 years. They got engaged on graduation day, happily married for 11 years now and have 3 handsome boys, age 7, 5, and 2! Good luck to your Sophie!
Brilliant. It's such a stressful time for everyone involved, but so worth it when it turns out great. I'm glad my children have all finished their education. It put years on me
Congratulations to Sophie, that's is excellent news! No wonder you are proud and happy.
PS I agree - youngsters need to learn the practicalities of life and most of them these days don't seem to!
