The third in the series of health checks on the chaffinch. As you can see from the bottom two he is eating normally. The only thing I noticed was a slight limp when on the ground so perhaps this was what made him lean over - not the drink!!
Please let me know what you think - does he look like he has the disease and should i report him to the RSPB?
Gosh! He does look a lot thinner. Just like the news link that was posted the other day saying that the parasite is literally starving them to death. I think it might be worth contacting the RSPB - better safe than sorry.
I really can't help with the health of this bird. It seems to be eating ok at your feeder. The thing about birds is that they are usually really sick by the time it shows.
