Lifeboat disaster memorial

In the little village of Port Eynon there is the church of St Cattwg and in the graveyard is this memorial dedicated to 3 men who died in a lifeboat rescue in 1916. Ironically & sadly, two of the men who volunteered were on leave from the war. There is an inscription below the statue but the road was very narrow and I couldn't get it all in the picture.
What a lovely memorial. Great angle for the shot too.

What a find. Sad story but great that there is a memorial.
