@365anne Thank you for your lovely comments Anne the coloured water is actually antifreeze for the car diluted for use, would have been a little darker if neat, will be having another go sometime:)
Nice shot Peter.I did quite a few of them a couple of years ago when i was doing a challenge / tutorial and i will have a look at them .I think a higher shutter speed is in order and i placed lights around mine through coloured paper.
Hey, you did it!! And you got a superb droplet crips and clear with awesome reflections. Great job Peter, and interesting that you used antifreeze. I hope your car didn't freeze up!
@stray_shooter Thank you for your comments and Fav. Ron, story behind the shot, studio setup outside against my workshop wall, glass dish filled with antfreeze on my workmate with a couple of old towel as base and backdrop, with a small pebble to create the splash, no flash just natural light, 95% of the shots were rubbish, then getting the hang of it and heavy rain stopped play, lol:)
@pixiemac Thank you for the advise Sarah I had another go today with much better results but non are a patch on your fantastic image, will try again another day using your suggestions, for today's attempts ended up with three flash units 2 slaves and one on the camera this gave a much sharper image set my camera on manual focus ISO 200 on f8:)
@pcoulson it's loads of trial and error! But great fun working it out, are you using your flashes on manual setting 1/64 as from what I've read it's the flash speed that freezes the drops:)
@pixiemac Just checked all three flash gun settings, they are all set at 1/125 second so will rest them to 1/64 on my next attempt, your advise is very much appreciated Sarah thank you:)
Amazing what we can get up to when the sky is yuk..
Have you seen Sarah's photos @pixiemac they are fabulous. http://365project.org/pixiemac/more-365/2017-01-07
I had a look at your exif data and if you can increase your aperture to f10 - f14 I think it will help with the focus.
