This impressive and realistic life size Stag sculpture is located in Lister Park in Bradford sculpted by the French sculptor Pierre Louis Rouillard (1820 – 1881). He belonged to the school of French animalières sculptors and awarded the Ordre des Palmes Académiques and made a Chevalier of the Légion d'honneur.
@jorlam Thanks for your comments they are appreciated, It had just stopped raining and was a miserable day with poor light, no polarising filter used, I tend to only to use a polarising filters in bright light for giving the sky a little help or when photographing over or through water, I have a lens hood fitted at all times for three reasons, protect the lens from the inevitable knocks, reduce lens glare when the sun shines, and also to help keep the lens dry in wet weather:)
@onewing Thank you Babs its a fine piece of the sculptures work, looks fantastic closed up had to turn a blind eye to the keep of the grass sign to get this shot:)
Impressive capture of an impressive piece of sculpture. I had to smile at the remark about Keep off the grass. I set one foot on a flower bed in the arboretum (on the earth not on any flowers) and was soundly admonished by a member of staff
i take it, it either had been or was raining - was looking at the raindrops (?) hanging from ear and rack..
did you use a polarising filter? i ask because of the lack of 'glare' in the wet conditions.
