Wedding Tradition by pcoulson

Wedding Tradition

My entry in this weeks theme - Traditions I've pick a wedding tradition in the UK, it's traditional for the bride to wear one of the following items at her wedding:- Something Old, Something New, Something Borrowed, Something Blue,
I've laid my items on a photograph taken at my sons wedding clearly not items that a bride would wear, this image was set up and taken today so hopefully will be considered as taken this week.
I must say, I like the blue, very sweet. I'm trying to remember if I had those 4 items at our wedding - a borrowed veil is all I can remember.

@quietpurplehaze Thank you very much for your comments I know Jenny had all four things cos we discussed it as I set up the shot, both my daughter and daughter-in-law had the four including Jenny's veil and some of her jewellery so we maintained the tradition:)

We have the same tradition here also. You are getting very creative now, not that you haven't in the past. FAV

I wonder if the old traditions still apply. I had all four items when I got married. Buggered if I can remember what they were now though, ha ha.

very creative and 'arty'.. your lighting looks impeccable. i think this is a fine interpretation of the traditional wedding rhyme.
Wow, you've been a photographer for all those years, your life must be well documented and that of your family and environment.

@pcoulson What an archive of images - full of all the social changes seen through one person's eyes - better than a word written book.

Fascinating way to compose your image Peter. Very clever way to express the tradition. Is the "new" item a remote shutter for the Sony? I just ordered an IR one for mine today and was surprised at the relatively low cost. I see the Sony E-mount f/2.8 70 - 200mm zoom is finally in stock. Bargain priced at $2600 USD!! You first!

@stray_shooter Thank you Ron, the timer/shutter release is for the Sony A7Rii inexpensive Chinese copy, as for the new lens that is on my wish list but could be they sometime funny the price over here with taxes is around £2500 Serling. OMG:)
