At the peak of its blooming cycle, the Bull thistle flower-head is a magnificent sight, yet it's hard to get close to because of it's very sharp spiny bristles. Strange as it may seem, certain species of deer have been observed munching on the leaves and stems of these most unappetizing wildflower!
