It's hard to believe, but in 1862 about 90 out of every 100 Americans were farmers. Today we have industrialized agriculture and many of the farmers have moved off the farms their grandparents once occupied. The countryside is dotted with abandoned farm buildings - pretty in photos but a sad reality.

They really are beautiful. I also find the abandoned and run down homes sad. It makes me wonder how they got that way. I wish they could tell us their story. I have loved your fall collection. I wish I had been able to get out a little more this year.
