I love hot air balloons and even more so now that I've flown in one! This shot reminds me of the excitement and heat that furnace blast creates just before lift-off! fav
Did you ascend Peter. This is on my bucket list. One of my big regrets is not taking the opportunity when it came. We were in Cappadocia, out along the Silk Road, and had spend the day before exploring the 'fairy chimneys' We were offered the chance to take a sunrise balloon flight over them but had to leave the hotel at 04:00. I was shattered from all the travelling so decided not to go. Big mistake!
Wonderful shot depicting that heat and fire required to inflate these!! Yes, it is quite a high (literally and figuratively) to go up in those balloons. My one and only ride so far was in Bagan, Burma, over the temples, and I will never forget it, especially the early morning rise in the dark to see them inflated.
