We sadly came to the end of our stay in Iceland, so I just had to drive up the western coast to seek out this beautiful mountain called Kirkjufell. It is a beautifully shaped free standing mountain. who's name means 'Church Mountain'. I was lucky to get this shot in before the torrential rains came down and soaked me head to foot - but I think it was worth the photo. We consider ourselves fortunate to have seen the beauty of God's creation in this part of the world ... and may it inspire you to visit this special place as well.

This is just amazing against black. What a fabulous trip this must have been. The dark clouds are perfect for this shot - Believe Iceland would have to be at the top of anyone's wish list of places to visit, thanks to your photography.
Iceland looks like an amazing place- I would love to go there someday. Lots of travel dreams but I don't know if they'll come true so at least I can see these places here. This is a great shot!
Oh gosh, I thought I had seen the best of Iceland but this shot goes far beyond expectations. What an amazing spectacle and your shot is breathtaking. Huge, but really huge, Fav.
another beautiful capture, i never considered going to Iceland before but it is now someplace I most certainly do want to visit. thank you so much for sharing with us. i appreciate it so very much. fav.
My husband (@ soylentgreenpics) lived in Iceland and I've got to have him view your photos. From his shots from way back, it's always held an ominous type of beauty that you have captured so magnificently in this series. I've enjoyed it immensely.
Great composition Peter!
