Iceland is a small and isolated country at the very edge of the Arctic and driving the Ring Road around the perimeter of the island gives you a sense of this isolation. The main road around Iceland has 39 single lane bridges, and you need to always watch out for traffic coming the other way.

You would be dithering at one end thinking is there anything coming but I suppose the roads are very quiet anyway. Quite an experience I guess! Looks a fantastic place!
Thanks Peter for allowing us to explore Iceland through your eyes.
Iceland has been on our bucket list for a while and it just got moved to the top ... for whenever we can travel safely again.
Wonderful and brings back memories of reading Desmond Bagley's book "Running Blind," which was set in Iceland and I remember the description of the narrow and often single track road.
