A very Happy New Year to all. Thank you for following, your comments, favs, suggestions, critique and encouragement this year. All of this is very much appreciated. I hope you, and your families, enjoy a wonderful New Year celebration in exactly the way you wish for.
If you're wondering, this is a score of the finale of Mahler's Symphony No 2, the "Resurrection Symphony". This moment is towards the end of the piece, when the massed choir stand and sing (very loudly, accompanied by the massive orchestra) "Sterben werde ich um zu leben" (translates as something like "I will die to live" reflecting the Christian intention of the text). It's one of the most moving pieces of music I have ever experienced; it came to mind as we approach the turn of the year, and new hopes for 2020.
What a creative idea for a photo, and I love your explanation of why it is so meaningful to you, Peter! I now wish I could hear this symphony for myself! Wishing you a New Year filled with abundant blessings and joy! This a a fav for me!
