Sunday Streetie by phil_howcroft

Sunday Streetie

We had a family meal in Nottingham this lunchtime, so I took the opportunity to do a couple of streetie's

I was going to do a "100 strangers" stranger, but the light all day was dark and the weather damp. It was one of those winter days when you have no light, when day appears to be almost night.

In fact it has been the same for most of the week, with added downpours of heavy rain. Poor photography light, hence the big gaps in this weeks posting

This streetie was post processed in Rawtherapee with a nice Kodachrome 64 film emulation giving a retro feel to the shot. However the common High Street names seen in the shot give it away as a current day shot !

The splash of reds always work in a colour shot
Interesting seeing the old buildings and the modern behind!

I think your humans in this shot have all colour co ordinated today! They must have said Phil's in town today, either black or red!
Good street shot as we can see the whole width there but all nicely balanced. Nice mix of modern & old buildings.

I like the detail and composition - I thought all those ladies went to the same shop for their orange (I must be colour blind!) coats!!

I couldn't live in weather like that Phil. I'm sorry to say that because Britain is one of the most beautiful of European countries. We have had little rain as yet this Autumn and a lot of sunshine. Gorgeous street shot and processing. The lady in the red jacket looks like Angela Merkel when she was young.

@sangwann @sdutoit @quietpurplehaze @happypat @maggiemae thanks everyone for your kind words and comments, glad you all approve. OOh and it is red Haze, albeit a retro red caused by the old school film filter

Such a lot to see in your shot and mixture of old and new. Lots of red pops to brighten it.

Aha, retro red!!!!

I think the red contrasting with the greys serves to emphasise the gloominess of the weather. Lots of atmosphere in this, nice one!
