Redwing by phil_sandford

Redwing

Another first for the garden; we have never had a Redwing before. Sure I read online last night that the severe weather on the continent has driven a huge number of Northern European birds to our shores. Not sure if this species is one of them, my RSPB bird book says they’re quite common - hust not, it would seem, in this part of Lincs.

Thank you for your views, comments and favs on yesterday’s offerings. Always appreciated and never taken for granted.
This is a beautiful capture! Never seen on of these before. The background and the pink tips of the tree add to this!

They LOVE apples, throw a couple of halved ones out and you'll get flocks on the ground!!!

He’s beautiful. Now that he’s found your bird banquet he will surely stay! Look at the buds on that tree!

Lovely capture Phil. We too have them in the garden for the first time, squabbling with the fielfare, starlings and blackbirds.

I have had 3 of them in my garden this morning. I had one yesterday (a first for me too) and he must have told his mates to come. Lovely capture Fav
