Durdle Door by phil_sandford

Durdle Door

On the Jurrasic Coast of south england, in the County of Dorset is this magnificent limestone arch jutting out into the sea.

On the spur of the moment, after spending the morning at our favourite National Trust property, Stourhead, during lunch at The Spread Eagle, I suggested to Carole that we head to the coast to Durdle Door. Carole had mentioned earlier, on our way to Stourhead, she had studied natural arches at school in geography and said she’d always wanted to see it.

So we did .........

Thank you for your views, comments and favs on yesterday’s offering. Much appreciated.

It was worth the detour. Much more popular than I had anticipated. I thought I was going to die on the climb back up! 😂

Funny how there are these arch structures right round the world. One we have near here looks like an 'elephant's trunk"! You climb up here??
