Continuing on from @photobird another shot of my back garden, one month on from the last one.
Lovely day here again in the Shire, after a wet one yesterday; with a wet day forecast for tomorrow also, the lawn stands some chance of bouncing back from the Summer's heat and burning temperatures. (If you do happen to look back at my previous photographs, you'll see that the green is (slowly) returning to the lawn)
The Dhalias are all up, with quite a few now in flower, but some are still to blossom. The first Summer storm, which was an absolute belter, hammered a large number of them back into the ground, and they haven't particularly recovered. The heat of the Summer has also left all of my Dahlias somewhat 'spindly' so I’m not expecting the display that we’ve had in recent years
The Agapanthus have gone over, the hydrangeas (which hated the heat) are now in flower and appear to have survived (the nightly watering most certainly helped); The water butt was fuly refilled after that first Summer storm when the heatwave broke, and is coping well now
All of the previous photographs are tagged philsgarden and if you wish to see it change through the months (obviously only if you feel that way inclined and have nothing better to do) then click on that tag.
I have enjoyed your philsgarden photos! It is amazing how the landscape can bounce back from a good rain. It’s certainly been about the heat here as well, everything is staggering right now, maybe two more weeks then a bit of more reasonable temperatures. It has been a long hot summer, one for the record books.
I always enjoy your philsgarden comparison photos. The drought and heat has taken a toll here too. A little rain really makes a difference. I'm glad most of your flowers are bouncing back. And the lawn is certainly improving.
