Recovery has been so much faster than I anticipated; very little discomfort now, other than the stinging of 4 hourly drops. The long distance sight in the eye is significantly improved from what it was before the operation, that if I didn’t need the glasses for reading (and the other eye’s prescription) I would bin them. There is still a small amount of haze which will go in time. Carole has said there is also some evidence of bruising, which I guess is to be expected.
Surgeon said I would not need glasses for long distance when he’d done both eyes. I was sceptical at the time, I’m not now.
It also goes to show how very stupid I was in ignoring the deterioration in my eyesight for so long; as I was told I would be, I am very aware of the cataract in my left eye, the eye I have been all but solely using for over a year.
That is brilliant, everyone I know who has had this done has been amazed at how much more they can see once it settles down.
My eyes go as if you have smeared vaseline over them when I step into a woodland and then restore the moment I leave. I suspect that may be cataract activity.....so maybe my time will come. Cheering you on and wishing you a good recovery.
