Dahlia Delight

The beauty and fragility of the Dahlia, together with the massive variation of colours and texture of the genus, never fails to amaze me. This one has been late to flower, but is one of the most beautifull of the crop we've had I think. As I said yesterday, the frosts will be here soon, so I make no apology for posting 'yet' another Dahlia.
A beautiful macro , mine are also going strong with plenty of flowers but one day soon they will be a mass of black when the frost descends on us !

Hi @beryl - This is only my second season growing them. Last year, around this time, I was staggered how quickly they blackened after first frost. It was in hours. I didn't luft the tubers for about two weeks and must admit, was very worried when over-wintering yhat none would survive to flower again. As you can see from many photographs in my 365project, they did (well, most of them)
I will certainly lift far more quickly this year.
