Continuing on from @photobird project, another shot of my back garden, one month on from the last one.
The colour is coming very strongly now, though there is still a lot of green; the Dahlias (last year's that I didn't lift and the new ones I bought as I thought last year's would all die) are beginning to flower (hopefully you can see them in the photograph?) The Poppies have gone over, the Delphiniums were rather poor this year, the Foxgloves just didn’t bother doing anything, the Alliums are now just the skeletons of the flowers, the Lupins have gone over also and the Valerian has been cut down for a second flowering (hopefully). The bedding plants at the front of that border are doing something, not great, but they're doing something.
Thankfully, the Dahlia’s will continue to bloom until the first frosts of 2017 and provide colour until then (we also have the hanging baskets)
All of my garden photographs are now tagged philsgarden and if you wish to see it change through the months (obviously only if you feel that way inclined and have nothing better to do) click here
@suzanne234 I thnk the ones we have are giant alliums - the flowers are huge balls when they bloom
