As Carole has already said, we went into Lincoln again as the BBMF Spitfire & Hurricane were due to fly past at 1420. At 1355, whilst we were in an art gallery we heard the unmistakeable sound of a Merlin Rolls Royce engine and sped out of the gallery down to a place where I managed to grab some very far away shots of the Spitfire as it departed.
In 24 years of time in the Army, I've never known the RAF to be early.
We waited until around 1440 and, like hundreds of other folk who had gathered for the flypast, we left.
We took an ambling way home and stopped at the side of the road to watch a glider taking off from RAF Kirton Lindsey.
Thank you for your views, comments and favs on yesterday’s offering. Much appreciated.
