Winter Fern by phil_sandford

Winter Fern

A shot taken in the ‘boring woods’ of Willingham yesterday. As we were strolling around, I commented to Carole that as woods go, it was boring. Not sure about Carole, but I took around 50 photographs, so possibly not as boring as I thought.

I always think the fern is best, either when it is still brand new and unfurling, or, like this shot, when it has gone over and died back for the winter.

Thank you for your views, comments and favs on yesterday’s offering. Much appreciated.
I love the shape of ferns

Not boring at all! True, the colours are muted, but the shapes and forms are still lovely

Ferns are such pretty plants.

I love this shot. There is something so beautiful about dead ferns. Your ferns look like this in winter and ours look like this in summer because it gets so hot.
