Those of you who have been following me for a bit will know of my passion for Leicester Tigers (English rugby Union Team) and you know that they had, how shall I put it, a less than acceptable season in 2018/19. Our last home match was early May, we lost (we lost lots of matches in 2018/19) and cemented our position in the league of 11th out of 12.
With the Rugby World Cup currently ongoing in Japan, the 2019/20 season starts a month later than it usually does, so it’s been a very long time, 132 days to be exact, since I saw Tigers play at Welford Rd and, after the debacle of last season and last week’s hammering at Worcester (picking up where we left off) last night I turned up at the ground with more than a little trepidation. My fears proved unfounded.
There’s something special about rugby under floodlights.
