Carole and I had this weekend totally planned. Rugby World Cup Semi-Final on Saturday morning, drive to Bradgate Park for the afternoon as it's rutting season, overnight in Leicester taking in a meal and a film, the second Rugby World Cup Semi-Final on Sunday morning, lunch in Leicester and the Tigers v Saracens match in the afternoon and then home. As we used to say in the Army, 'no plan survives first contact with the enemy' and as Saturday was a total washout across the enitre UK, we stayed at home Saturday, heading to the Hotel late in the afternoon, which meant we had to do Bradgate Park and the Deers this morning.
We got there around 0800 and left at around 1300; I'd taken in the region of 750 photos, Carole around 400.
A wonderful way to spend the morning in the crisp cold of a winters day. We found the Royal Stag, the Alpha Male, within the 1st hour and basically stayed with him as he rounded up his harem. Lots of young bucks straying into his territory tryin to take the girls, but none of them would dare rut with him.
