The Kings Head public house in Tealby in Lincolnshire is the oldest thatched roof pub in England. Like every public house in England, they have been ordered to close for four weeks by the government due to the Corona pandemic. This follows a four month shutdown in April. Many of them simply won’t survive and will never reopen.
The Kings head is doing takeaway food on Fridays Saturdays and Sundays; Carole and I took advantage of it this evening; telephone the order in at around 1pm for collection at 6pm.
It was quite delicious. The pub have told me that the takeaway menu has been very popular; I hope it is enough to keep this wonderful public house alive for years to come.
Thank you for your views, comments and favs on yesterday’s offering. Much appreciated.
A lovely night time shot. Our restaurants are at 75% occupancy but most of them have stayed at 50% because the 75 would put diners too close together. When they were closed we purchased take out from our local restaurants rather than the big chains. So hopeful all will be well before long.
We've visited a few country pubs pre-lockdown2 and we were safe, they'd worked so hard investing time and ££ in precautionary measures,
