Had a catch up with an old Officer Commanding this afternoon; my boss from one of my many former Yugoslavia tours, this one back in 1998. It got me dragging out a couple of old photographs from my military service.
The photo on the left is December 1995, United Nations tour just south of the Kupres Tunnel in Bosnia. My handover takeover with my replacement after 7 long months. Top right is another tour, summer of 1998, this time with NATO and IFOR, this was a deserted bar in the former besieged city of Sarajevo, a small moment of relaxation in what was a hectic day. Bottom right is from a Mess Dinner in 1991/2 taken at Loughborough, our trade training school where I was an instructor. This was Radio Wing, a fine fine team and one of the happiest times of my service (I’m the skinny one in the middle).
