Juvenile Woody by phil_sandford

Juvenile Woody

Within 10 minutes of telling Carole yesterday that I hadn’t seen the woodpecker, the sparrowhawk or a squirrel for many weeks, the woodpecker and squirrel turned up. Woody was back again this morning and I managed to catch it through the kitchen window.

I thought at first it was a female, as the red on the male head wasn’t visible. But on getting the photograph off the camera and onto my phone, I can just make out some red on the birds head, which makes me think now that it is a juvenile male not yet in its full adult plumage.

Thank you for your views, comments and favs on yesterday’s offering. Much appreciated.
A nice addition coming into your garden !
