We were up early to watch the Coronation, and had a lovely afternoon tea-party-for-two on the porch to celebrate later. You can see the crown theme if you look closely-- we used crown-style hardware to make the tiered serving dish, I folded the napkins as crowns, and of course the Coronation souvenirs feature crowns as well. I didn't make the food though, it's from a local tea room called Queen of Hearts.
You can't see too many of them in the photo, but there was an absolute carpet of dandelions behind us (I love dandelions). It's been raining (and sleeting and a little bit snowing) all week but the sun and the pollinators came out, and Coronation Day was quite beautiful. We saw our first butterflies of the season during our tea.
The souvenirs are pins, and the cards they're on say "Commemorating the coronation of His Majesty Charles III King of Canada, May 6th, 2023"
