Exhibiting at local fairs is pretty much a family tradition on my dad's side. I did it a couple of times as a child with guidance from my dad's little sister (my mum was still alive, so I had to have been pretty little!), but I haven't participated since. Having lost Daddy so suddenly this summer though, I felt that doing it again might help me feel connected to him/that part of my past and my heritage... So during the first week of September I submitted some baking and arts & crafts and such to the one in my city.
To my surprise, when the fair was over and it was time for exhibitors to collect their things, I was seeing red! I did get a few blue ribbons (2nd place) as well, but I was really stuck for a photo tonight and decided to try and do something in the house for the current monthly theme (One Colour) so those ones got left out of the picture.
