Tharwa General Store

Celebrated the end of the week with a ride out to Tharwa and found this original old General Store amongst some marvellous gum trees. We were a bit brave as the skies were very threatening, but the evening light was still lovely.

I love the shape and textures of the gum trees. (Thought they were eucalyptus at first.)

Ah, thank you - did not know their other name. I remember seeing them on holiday in flower along the 'levadas' in Madeira - one of our magical holidays!

Fabulous. this is so Australian. don't you just love the general stores. We saw one a while ago and it was everything to everyone. General store, library, café, post office, newsagents, the list went on.
