Could it be Rosa acicularis, also known as the prickly wild rose, the prickly rose, the bristly rose and the Arctic rose, ( http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Rosa_acicularis ) we call it "Karjalan ruusu" / a rose of Karelia and it is " a region plant" of North Karelia.
