Not always paradise. by pyrrhula

Not always paradise.

Sorry . i`ve press a wrong button. With this pic I want to show clay is n`t always paradise. In fact it`s hard to work on and with our climate , see for yourself. In this condition you can`t harvest , no tractor can ride on this slippy ground.

I have sssolid clay in my garden - impossible stuff - I buy in top soil where I want to plant. But yes - it floods easily.
Interesting pic :)

This looks a familiar sight we have a lot of spoilt crops here.

My backyard looks like that today. We have had so much torrential rains the last couple of days...

We haven't had much rain this summer, but when we do, it looks like that because of the Red Rive Valley clay
September 23rd, 2012
wow so much water just lying there.
September 23rd, 2012
I guess the clay just can't absorb all the water - hopefully, it will dry out soon!

Poor farmers. I sympathise. We have hay cut and lying on the ground drying but showers and storms are forecast for today which will probably ruin the crop if they eventuate.
September 23rd, 2012
Wow! I hope it doesn't take long to dry. :0)

It does look like a sloppy mess!

A great shot that shows us what it's like when things aren't working out like they are supposed to. There are always two sides to a coin, or to the same story!

Looks like quite a bit of water there - is that from rain? I hope it dries out soon so the crops can be harvested.
September 24th, 2012
It still makes a good shot - like the symmetry of the crop in the background.
September 24th, 2012

Oh boy, that's quite wet. But I like the even rows of corn and the sky above them. It's perfect for this time of year!
