A man with a `` Bakfiets`` moving funiture

Yesterday a man with a modern outlay of what we call : a ``bakfiets``
This is the old-fashioned one . The mother of them all . Seen on pic.`s from 1930 and earlier . At that time used because cars /lorries are to expensive . To day for the same reason and for environment reasons . Pic. taken in the city Groningen where a lot of students use it to day to move.
It`s amazing to see so many different shapes of bikes...used for different types of transport..thank you so much for letting us see them all.

What a handy thing to have around! Here everyone uses trailers on the back of their cars, but then Aussies drive everywhere anyway. I guess people have to drive them carefully around corners!

Amazing. Never seen anything like it. A very clean way to move about.

How practical. I've never seen one on the front of a bike this long, only on the back. Brilliant idea unless you live in the hills! katharine

I`ve often use the ``Bakfiets`` in earlier times to move goods. You can cycle on/with it and normally you do. Only high bridges gives sometimes problems and you`ve to ask for help. He was in a pedestrian area.
To day they become more popular and you can rent them by the hour
